| Comment | A biosynthesis cassette found in Syntrophobacter fumaroxidans MPOB, Chlorobium limicola DSM 245, Methanocella paludicola SANAE, and delta proteobacterium NaphS2 contains two PqqE-like radical SAM/SPASM domain proteins, a PqqD homolog, and a conserved hypothetical protein. This HMM identifies a conserved open reading frame that was identified as a predicted gene in only one of those species (Chlorobium), but that may represent the ribosomally produced peptide precursor of the system. As with most other radical SAM enzyme-modified ribosomal natural products, these polypeptides are Cys-rich in the C-terminal half. |
