Comment | In the presence of O2, the benzoyl-CoA oxygenase/reductase BoxBA BoxAB converts benzoyl-CoA to 2,3-dihydro-2,3-dihydroxybenzoyl-CoA. Members of this family, BoxC, homologous to enoyl-CoA hydratases/isomerases, hydrolyze this compound to 3,4-dehydroadipyl-CoA semialdehyde + HCOOH. |
