CommentProteins in this family are found almost exclusively in the Proteobacteria, but also in Gloeobacter violaceus PCC 7421, a cyanobacterium. This family was proposed by Makarova, et al. (2009) to be the antitoxin component of a new class of type 2 toxin-antitoxin system, or addiction module.
