Comment | The alpha and beta subunits of allophycocyanin form heterodimers, six of which associate into larger aggregates as part of the phycobilisome, a light-harvesting complex of phycobiliproteins and linker proteins. This model describes allophycocyanin beta subunit. Other, homologous phyobiliproteins include allophycocyanin alpha chain and the phycocyanin and phycoerythrin alpha and beta chains. |
