CommentThis HMM describes a family of proteins found in a single copy in at least ten different early completed bacterial genomes. The only characterized member of the family is Bvg accessory factor (Baf), a protein required, in addition to the regulatory operon bvgAS, for heterologous transcription of the Bordetella pertussis toxin operon (ptx) in E. coli.
