CommentMembers of this protein family are 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate cytidylyltransferase, the IspD protein of the deoxyxylulose pathway of IPP biosynthesis. In about twenty percent of bacterial genomes, this protein occurs as IspDF, a bifunctional fusion protein.
