Comment | The only characterized member of this family so far is the glycerate kinase GlxK (EC 2.7.1.31) of E. coli. This enzyme acts after glyoxylate carboligase and 2-hydroxy-3-oxopropionate reductase (tartronate semialdehyde reductase) in the conversion of glyoxylate to 3-phosphoglycerate (the D-glycerate pathway) as a part of allantoin degradation. |
